MR PATRICK & THE HOLLYWOOD STARS (work-in-progress trailer)

This is a ten minute, work-in-progress trailer of the feature length documentary, Mr. Patrick & The Hollywood Stars. Principle photography is completed on the film and we are currently seeking a post-production budget (approx 50K) to complete the film by Summer 2009. Release plans for the film include festivals, theatrical, DVD, television, as well as an educational DVD release to schools across the country.

Our children are now taught to memorize, not think. Arts and Physical Education are being pulled from curriculums while prepping for standardized tests has become the norm. Our children are no longer challenged. Independent thought and creativity have been put on the back burner while students are becoming less prepared to face the world around them.




Mr Patrick & The Hollywood Stars follows a colorful class of fifteen underprivileged students enrolled in MovieMakers, a non-for-profit, after school filmmaking workshop taught by guerilla filmmaker Mr. Patrick. When he poses a challenge to his young students to write, direct, and produce a film better than anything weve done in the past (with no budget, of course), then Mr. P will find a way to throw a red carpet Hollywood premiere to screen the masterpiece for family and friends. This hilarious, heart-felt, and truly unique documentary follows the students over the course of a semester as they mine their imaginations for gold while discovering the true meaning of collaboration.
