President-elect Barack Obama, asked on NBCs Meet the Press, whether the management of the automaker should be allowed to stay, said it may not be the same for all the companies.

Press Conference

Later, at a press conference in Chicago, Obama said that if the management team thats currently in place doesnt understand the urgency of the situation and is not willing to make the tough choices and adapt to these new circumstances, then they should go.

If, on the other hand, they are willing, able and show themselves committed to making those important changes, then that raises a different situation, Obama said.

  • @gasripper2 Wow you are pretty stupid. Its easy to determine what is wrong with a company, you look at their product or service then operating cost and net revenue stream. Duh.

  • Has this guy ever worked in the private sector? NO so how can he say what is wrong with a business.

  • FUCK ALL YOU UNION MEMBERS, YOU ARE KILLING THIS COUNTRY YOU CARE NOTHING ABOUT!!!

  • @plymouthboys you are a dumb nigger too you union fuck

  • OBAMA IS A SMART BUSINESS MAN....

  • Use bailout funds trade in cars give cash for cars Just like cash for clunkers. Creating new cars and alot more jobs.

  • This shows how stupid Democrats really are about the American economy. They pass legislation after controlling American Auto companies to provide incentive for buying American cars but it's not just for American cars, it's also for any car that is sold in America. Gee you think the majority of people buy American cars?

  • For the last 40 yrs.I have watched US manufacturing migrate to foreign countries Why?Because with unions, taxes, pollution laws, etc. it has become too expensive to do business in the US.The Japanese surpassed US car companies long ago in quality and fuel efficiency. Now the taxpayers are asked to bail out GM because of the mistakes they have been making for 40 years. They are no longer competitive and can not sell their products.I do not like paying the wages of workers who make $60,000 a yr.

  • You know how you fix GM, you let it fail, it should've failed 10 years ago, and it needs to fail today, be bought by other smaller businesses, and be called something else.

This is amazing, we are now seeing socialism at its finest. OBAMA/GOVERNMENT IS NOW RUNNING A FREE MARKET COMPANY. SOCIALISM AT ITS FINEST.

  • our company makes headlights for gm, chrysler, and ford. We are feeling the slowdown for sure. I think President Obama should just kick in the money and make me a sandwich
