Here I am giving http://www.hhohhu.com some free advertising for their HHO hydrogen generating space heater. They sell plans and a fully functioning unit. I just love to experiment with stuff such as this.
I hope there are some experimenters to be out there willing to give this a try. Happy experimenting!

  • how much hydrogen do you need to produce to get the unit working, ?

interesting video, would like to see video of the inside working, as the plans no longer available one comment state's.

    Thom in Scotland.

  • @fuelban The amount of hydrogen is only the amount that bubbles up through the bubbler unit that goes to the nozzle and that is about 1/4 or less of the container volume.(the amount that accumulates at the top) There is very little explosive power due to such a small volume of gas in the container. The most that can happen is that the lid would pop off. HHO in water is many times greater than the amount of water in the container, simply because the molecules are microscopic in size.

  • The problem with a1mint's comment is that the heater is not burning electricity, it is burning the hydrogen and oxygen that has been separated in the process. The wattage is only about 350 and that is equal to about only 3 and 1/2 100 watt light bulbs. Try heating 1,000 square feet with 350 watts, not possible. As for the Walmart electric heater, in order to heat 1,000 square feet, one would need many small $20 heaters to heat 1,000 square feet.

  • It is true that the plans are no longer available. I purchased them just before they quit selling the plans and now they are selling the heaters only.

  • I cannot say any more about the unit because you have to buy the plans like I did or if they are no longer available, buy a unit from hhohhu.com. I can say that there is many times more heat output than the amount of water that is used up because there is many times greater hydrogen and oxygen in water than you can see. HHO gas is about 14 times lighter than air.

the unit will run for days without adding water.

  • The unit has a funnel and flexible copper tube leading to the heat exchanger that pumps out very high temperature air (up to 3000 degrees). with it running steady it will heat up to 1,000 square feet when the outside temperature is about 10 to 15 degrees. The unit uses no more than 400 to 500 watts of power which is equal to 4 to 5 100 watt light bulbs on full time. So there would be max of .5kw per hour @ 8 cents per 1kw or whatever your power company charges per kilowatt hour. 4 cents/hr.

  • Trying to make a heater by converting electricity to hydrogen and then burning that hydrogen is a completely pointless exercise.

The natural law of the conservation of energy states that you can not create or destroy energy, only convert its form.

A $20 Walmart space heater converts exactly 100% of the electricity it uses to heat.

ANY heating device that runs on electricity is exactly 100% efficient.

Converting electricity to hydrogen and burning that is also exactly 100% efficient.

  • well i just went to their site and its trying to take my money but it looks like the link is still good

  • there are no plans to purchase from that site

  • How much energy does it use compared to the amount heat it produces? It looks great!
