Classical Guitarist Li Jie plays a transcription of the Prelude from the Cello Suite #1 (Bwv1007) for Cello by Johann Sebastian Bach composed most likely during the period 1717--1723.

  • very very pretty....loved it....amazing work

  • from Jose', the Hermeterec........Li Jie is incredibly talented and beautiful and does not deserve to be labeled "robotic" or "unemotional". Who are we to know what she is feeling while she plays.....just listen to her music and judge her on the content of that without speculating about her emotional commitment to the piece.

  • from Jose' Sepulveda, the Hermeterec.......WYKKYDJVC.... I usually deplore what I refer to as "ad homenem" retorts against people who make thoughtless and hurtful comments about youtube contributors who are generally tremendously more talented and creative than their detractors of WHATEVER race or ethnicity, but your comment about facial expressions and emotional content was right on the money!

  • @SqueezeMyLemonBabe of course the piece is ultimately Bachs. but the arrangement I mean to say.

  • @oddfellowfloyd

those were arranged by mexican guitarist Manuel Ponce. This is his piece.

  • @PhilipsPPP The extra notes just seemed like they were trying to throw in harmonies that worked and get away with it. You can't fuck with Bach and get away with it very easily.

  • Absolute technical perfection

  • I do not agree with some of the added harmonies. There seems to be a wrong note in the arrangement too. The beauty about Bach's Cello suite is its contrapuntal nature with its implied harmony. The added parts spoiled the music.

    Li Jie played well though.

  • Good!

  • Flawless as always, beautiful woman, amazing presence on the guitar. I hope this woman comes to Atlanta, I would sell everything I own to hear play in person. If I hear another snide mother fucker talk about her playing like "a robot" I'd cut them deep and bleed them slow. This woman has a gift, and it is the guitar. I absolutely love some of the Russian compositions she does, and better than about anyone else might I add....
