Francois Steyn puts a big drop goal over from about 58 metres. He was kicking into the wind as well.

Could do without Warren Brosnihan's commentary, though: "You've got to be joking me."

Why is this guy still commentating?

  • the only other drop goal close to that was larkhams in the 1999 world cup semi final

  • Ah, don't remind me, it sent us tumbling out of the World Cup. It was a fantastic drop, though.

  • @ElectricGnuOrchestra That was a fluke. The only drop he ever succeeded with in his entire career. Frans is a genuine threat.

  • @GaryTss but the whole rule about not having foreign based players in their team is stupid, why not play your best players

  • @GaryTss politics. Part of the team must be black doesnt matter how good they are. Emagine alblacks or Australia had to do the same having quota players.

  • wow he made it with about 10 yards to spare amazing!

  • @duhaa786M pretty stupid system you SA's have, why refuse to play a great player when they could increase the ability of their team, idiots

  • It's not just Steyn to be fair, but both Steyn's (Franccois and Morne) practically catalyse the process by themselves.

  • It was so refreshing to see some brilliant running rugby in the Heineken Cup last weekend. Harlequins v Sale and Clermont Auverge v Leicester were absolutely brilliant games to watch. It's just a shame that a team like Saracens can get to the top of the Guiness Premiership whilst playing such a dull form of rugby.

  • nope. its both. people get excited about tries. nowadays teams are only scoring their points through drop kicks and penalties, as well as playing aerial ping pong.

  • id say thats because of ping pong kicking, rather than 60 metre drop goals

  • exactly the reason why rugby has gotten boring... 2 much kicking
