@twister2158 yeah, a banded would grow out of a 125gal. I have my banded in a 300gal tank now and its ok for the shark, but bigger would be better. everyone told me a 125 would be fine for a banded, but I disagree. too much like a prison. the problem most people face is a 125gal aquarium is fairly cheap... $500 more or less. a 300gal will run closer to $3,000... plus lots of light, plus lots of sand, live rock, filtration, skimming, etc

My banded cat is in an 8 foot 300gal tank. They can do ok in a 125 Gal for awhile. But you need to make sure the shark has plenty of room to make circles comfortably. It's like me saying, " what's the smallest room you could survive in if I confined you to a room for the rest of your life,"
