Larry Potterfield, CEO and Founder of MidwayUSA, shows the viewer how to properly level crosshairs using the Wheeler Engineering Level Level Level. This tool, combined with proper technique, will guarantee your crosshairs are perfectly level every time. This system uses a pair of precision levels that allows the user to level the crosshairs of a rifle scope in relation to the raceways of the action. This system is quick, precise, and eliminates the problem of canted crosshairs completely. When used in conjunction with the Wheeler Engineering FAT wrench, screwdriver set, and ring lapping kit, anyone can professionally install and level a rifle scope.

  • if it isnt leveled with the turrets your scope is poorly made

  • Of course it matters if the rifle is level and the scope is level. If the crosshair is not made to be level with rifle then your windage and elevations will not change your POI to where you want it. If the rifle is, for example, canted to the left and you put a minute of elevation on your scope. You will end up with a POI that is up and left and not directly up where it is needed. Likewise, if you put 1 minute of left windage on your POI will end up down and left rather than straight left.

  • @dmproske - perhaps when you hold the rifle, you don't hold it level.

  • Man! It's a bit harder in the demonstration to keep the scope level when yer tightenin' the screws down...ya hafta over compensate either side for 16th or 32nds of an in. in order to get it directly level...likewise, he's got top screws on this mounts, I've got an old Sako Finnbear with OEM mounts & the screws are on the bottom!
