Quick improvised demonstration of various synths in action. As usual I've gone for a Tangerine Dream / Film Soundtrack type of feel. This time, for better sound quality, I've recorded the audio thru the desk into wavelab, and tried to sync up this audio track with the video. It does go slightly out of sync. The equipment used were a Yamaha AN1x, Roland JP8000, Korg MS2000, Elka Synthex, Yamaha SY55, Roland XV5080 and Roland JV1080.

  • How does the AN1x compare to the CS1x? I can get both for pretty much the same price, but I'm still a bit split down the middle between them.

  • @Stoney3K hi Stoney, they have different synth engines. The AN1x is virtual physical modelling for that virtual analogue sound. The CS1x (from what a gather) is AWM2. It depends what you want from your synth. If you after a good convincing analogue sounding synth, for nice fat pads, lead lines and basses, then go for the AN1x. Be warned, its not a "workstation" synth. Its only 10note polyphonic and 2 note multi-timbral. Hope that helps.

  • 3:28 LMFAO by watching the right hand with that ''wind sound'' lol :)

  • @crunk4124 LOL I've only just noticed that !! purely unintentional, honest !!

  • Amazing! Couldn't help but lol at the 'doom' style view, is the camera attached to your head or something?

  • LOL, yeah, taped to my head with gaffer tape. Took a bit of time cutting it all out of my hair too !! doooh !

  • This is so beautiful. I can hear the sound of the wind. It makes me think of my grandad flying around the Taj Mahal in a spitfire when he was stationed in India during the war.

  • Good Job? No

    Great? No

    This is Just Amazing!

It was like something felt from inside!

  • Brilliant.

By the way, please, I've been ofered a Yamaha V50 and a SY55 for 140€ each, wich one should I pick? I'm a newbie and I know they are very different machines but I've heard interesting dark sounds produced by a SY55 on a web and almost nothing on the net by the V50, but knowing it is a TX81Z FM synth with a couple of extras, it sounds interesting...

  • sweet soundscape. love the look of that synthex!!!
