  • It brings back sad memories cos I was a teen then and I felt I was the only one to enjoy this album when everyone else in my class was into Queen or AC/DC. Besides , I was overwhelmed by this melancholy that was not supposed to fit in with adolescence . Then, Tom Verlaine was own Baudelaire , the dandy I was trying to imitate, unconcerned as I was about poets of the past. Thanks for posting this wonderful song .

  • Adventure is a real treasure. I actually prefer it to Marque Moon as i think it holds up better over time. 3 trax on here now. Can some geek upload the rest?

  • i prefer MM but this album is awesome too.

  • One of my favorites from this amazing band.

  • dude, i'd love to hear a more rockabilly of this

  • @salgoudsamoht i don't think so. the BOss wudnt hangin out to them there clubs on a lower east side back in them days. fer one thing, he a probly been a scared o that fotograffer Robin Thorpelmpam who done them pichers with bullwhips an things. he wuz freindz wit Ms. Patti Smith, who wuz real good freindsz with Mr Vurlein.back in them days. the Boss done many a fine orginial songs over tha years. he aint likely to gettin influence from them gruops who done that differnt soundin songs.

  • @salgoudsamoht ok, it was just a thought :-) it happens to be my favourite springsteen song. i guess i like it cuz it sounds like television, at least the intro does.

  • @discomadame no. it's probably the other way around. the boss most likely heard them play something like this while slumming at CBGBs or Max's Kansas City in 1974 on one of his adventures up to the city from the jersey shore. if tom verlaine was listening to the boss back then i would be completely mystified and have to recalculate my entire approach to life. which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. we all need to learn new things as we get old.

  • i love adventure. thefirst thing i shop lifted a red vinyl adventure

  • such simple but pretty and effective organ and piano work. This song really tugs at the heartstrings.

  • one of their most beautiful songs. and there are many.

once I had a ship, yes, I had a map...
