@it depends wich year you have, they made a switch from dipped to a galvanized steel, with layers of rust proofing...i think like 75 or 76, bout two years before they ended production of h body vegas

@ipspots1 Yah man I'm 45 the neighbor had one when I was a kid, loved it, loved the corvair. but the vega had a crazy engine design that was at once ahead of its time and behind it, and thin rusty body panels, shit you can't even find an original one ANYWHERE.
