i did a science project on the chemistry of coke + mentos a few years ago, and i found that the warmer the liquid is, the better your result will be. so if y'all were using cold soda, thats why it was such a dud. but if you use room temp/warm soda, the result would be better. ive never tried using other soda with mentos so i will admit that i like your concept.
