So glad you're having fun with the tutorials and quilting! The border here is 5". It's a good size outer border for many quilts.

Jenny, How wide is your border? By the way, everything I know about quilting you taught me from these tutorials. Many of my quilting friends are amazed that I can quilt and it looks ligit. Thanks so much for making this a free service to the public. I'm adding the scalloped border to my jelly roll race quilt.

what a wonderful tutorial. Can you do one that shows us how to mark a feather spine on the center of a border. I have been longarming since 96 and using all my undulating templates still puzzles me when it comes to aligning those spines and the corners?

It could add a cool dimension to a jelly roll quilt. There are no hard rules...give it a try!

I'm not certain, but it looks like the "Jacobean" swirl pattern. You can search our "Machine Quilting" page on our website and see the quilting machine patterns we offer. Enjoy!

Thanks can't wait to try this . Could this be used on a jelly roll race quilt or does it have to many straight lines? It's the next quilt I have planed :)

Thanks, Jenny. You make it look possible for a newbie like me. Your up-close camera is perfect. It shows those small details that are really necessary for me. Thanks again, arcadia-ro.
