This dell would not power on, the power light would flash orange. I disassembled it and found one capacitor that was starting to bulge. I replaced that capacitor and it fixed the motherboard.

  • Never go to changing capacitors or anything before troubleshooting. You commented that a cap is 2 bucks and a powersupply is 25 but its free to test a powersupply to determine if it is the problem. I like you video but the recomendaion to goto soldering crap before you test stuff is retarded.

  • @cursed1815 Have you seen the power supply on his model? It is an oversized power brick. I did test the voltage on it and it was good, but this thing has proprietary connections on it there was really no way to test the amperage on it to make sure it would carry the load of the pc. I guess I could have made some leads to go from the power supply to the pc and monitored it for voltage drop as I pressed the power button. But the capacitors were bad and had to be replaced anyway.

  • Did you use a rubycon?

  • @raymangold22 probably, or maybe Nichicon but honestly I don't remember.

  • you should have shown the actual switch of capacitors

  • @curtflirt2 I have on some of my other videos. check out my opltiplex 745 bad capacitor video.

  • I have a few of these PS's and one trips out the power supply and won't work't ill you unplug and re plug. Why cant Americans pronounce a two sylable word SOLDER and also the capacitor's are rated in microfarads not microfad. Get English lessons.

  • @mjmcomputers more like saw-der or sah-der. That's the way i've always heard it (being one of them Americans)

  • @TwoDogsX2 that's how people say it bro.
