More like Russian as it pertains to the region of his residency. People who see cultures from the etic perspective invariably develop generalized perceptions on said cultures. Our ideas about what certain accents are tend to be pretty cartoonized. I know what you mean and I'm not trying to give you a hard time. But his accent is thoroughly Russian in origin. I'm just telling you this so Vlad doesn't kick your ass (and he would) for proposing that he hailed from Scotland/Jamaica!
