Back in January of '09, I was busy digging up some old, *old* bits & pieces of material from the internet and stitching them together. Here is a bit of an eulogy for Bill, the mood suddenly struck me to make it.

In it you'll prominently see Bill Hicks aw well as his friend Kevin Booth who's now a film producer. It also features a few of Bill's friends, as well as Joe Rogan, in a particular eulogizing radio segment.

Bill's take on God was VERY different to George Carlin. Carlin was an out and out atheist, Bill was very interested in spirituality. He was into meditation, as well as the spiritual applications of various psychedelic substances... His problem was with organized religion, not spirituality.

And deity is kind of an odd word to use. People's view of what god is ranges drastically across the board.

A deity is definitely not an obvious fiction. Science can neither prove nor disprove the existence of something that cannot be measured. Just because something cannot be measured, does not mean it doesn't exist.

@degas5000 a deity is an obvious fiction? gee i missed the news report officially stating that we have disproven the existence of a creator. are you familiar with the term "implication" ? ok well, when you say that you dont believe in a creator, you are implying that all of what we know as matter came from nothing, because since there's no deity as you have obviously proven to us (sarcasm), this stuff must have come from nothing. but you know all the answers to the universe, not lil old me...

most people who are atheist like to consider themselves smarter or more enlightened than people who believe in god (dont ask me why). so its pretty surprising why so many atheists just flat out assume bill hicks or george carlin didnt believe they were created by something beyond them. anyone who has an even slightly honest thought process will have to consider the fact that we are here, we are incredibly wonderful and magical even, and cant just appear from no where.
