You've seen him on Survivorman. Now he's written this book compiling all the knowledge he's gained and put in practice over the years. He even let fellow survival instructors Doug Getgood, Dave Arama, and Douw Kruger critique his book to make sure he wasn't leaving anything out.
It doesn't have advanced stuff like bow making, flint knapping, and complex traps. Les wrote this book for the average person, like me, giving us a practical edge on survival and what it takes to survive.
He also doesn't recommend you drink urine :)

Les Stroud is an insane man ;P
He survives in the most insane places like the desert or the middle of some deserted island, he'll have his camera equipment, his clothes off his back, a poker knife kit, and if he's lucky he was a single match or some crumbs of food or something. He disentangle waste any time and he'll have a fire
