  • I like this version better than the album version. He 's playing with awesome Aussie muso's and knows he can just walk on stage with minimal or no rehearsal. It is much more "up" and Jon seems in high spirits with a great vocal.

  • He can barely get the words out it's so rushed, they took all the New Orleans out of it! He even turns around to look right at the drummer when it starts running away, and it's not a "yeah man we're hookin' up" look. Once he realizes the tempo's out the window though it is fun to watch him throw down and roll with it.

  • @SpankFrappa I totally agree dude, i watched this thinking it was with AMG and...yrah!! check out if you havent already this song live at the basement.. then you realise. lol

  • Cyrano de Bergerac, anyone?

  • Now listen to it with The AMG, you'll realise that this version is not all that. Its too fast and there's really very little groove compared to what big d does with that riff.

  • they maybe great muso's but there's no substitutes for the Gentlemen I MISS THE FEEL...........

  • Cool sound. That song version is probably the best from what is uploaded on Youtube. I like the musicians. The guitarist/B3 player is very cool. The drummer looks very motivated which is cool too. Jon is great as always.

  • Those musos effed that song up man and where were the Gentlemen? I love that song but this version was rushed and had no groove man. Jon your still the mantis if only you could chuck something at that drummer

  • Sorry I have to agree that this version is sub par for Jon. I've seen him twice and this version seems sanitized. Also the tempo is rushed. Got a feeling its because of the time limitations by the show. He needs to play where theres lots of booze and reefer . Then its cootchie koo.

  • Great tune, but my initial impression was that the feel wasn't right.Should be inbetween straight and swung. The opening guitar riff is played too fast and with no 'lope' or swing meaning the feel has a tendency to 'straighten up'.

  • wow.... !
