  • "If the Greeks did not tell such a story, surely the Romans...but sir I think it must be found in the Bible."

What a beautiful and mysterious appreciation of the Bible.

  • Ya i love that last scene where Chamberlain looks up though all the Hell and sees short little General Hancock ride out to the stone wall on his horse:)

  • Longstreet (Berenger) is incorrect in the description of the placement of the troops for the attack. He is correct for Picketts 3 brigades on the right, but on the left wing of the attack during the real battle, General Pettigrews division was in the lead with Trimble's men in the rear in support

  • @equitemcroce Southerners do that...

  • This is the most intense scene in the entire movie in my opinion, “George can you take that ridge?” – gives me chills every time I see that and puts a knot in my stomach…

  • Civil War documentarian Ken Burns is the soldier pleading with Gen. Hancock to get down off his horse.

  • Pettigrew....J. Pettiegrew. Look, it's James Bond! George Lazenby as a Confederate commander.

  • @TheTarget1980 I knew a fellow who was 31 and looked substantially older. It happens.

  • General JJ Pettigrew was a great man! I've read his book "Notes on Spain and Spaniards in the summer of 1859, with a glance of Sardinia" I feel honored to read and learn of such great southern!
