Here is the first chapter of American McGee's Fiona. Please view the "opening" thing before this, as it will make more sense.
This is a cross over between Capcom's PS2 game Haunting Ground and American McGee's Alice for the PC. Both are wonderful games deserving more recognition.
Seen the video? Still don't get what's going on? Step-by-step "walkthrough" here:
The voice of Alice is Fiona's thoughts here, as she picks herself back up and gets ready to explore "Wonderland." Hearing a noise nearby, she stops and turns, being surprised to see a door opening by itself. She walks in and notices something on the side. Looking, glowing eyes stare back at her. Spooked, she runs out and slams the door behind her. It is then that she feels a presence. She turns around to see an old friend, Daniella. They're both relieved to see each other, smiling. She notices Daniella staring at something. As she looks, she suddenly remembers what it was like the last time she was here. Daniella gives her a strange look, making Fiona feel nervous so she leaves. Walking down the hall, she notices a shadow on the wall. It catches her interest but right then she hears someone else behind her. Debilitas attempts to frighten her but stops himself as he realizes it's only "Queen Fiona." But something's strange about him...he starts walking towards her in a threatening way. Fiona tries to tell him to stop but alas, he doesn't. It is then that the creature from before appears to save her. (No, she does not know this is Hewie. I just needed that clip, kind of like "Stop!" or something) He vanishes moments after. Debi slowly picks himself up and walks away with his feelings hurt. Fiona is relieved but only for a moment, as she hears her name called behind her. Turning, it's Riccardo. There is no kindness as right away, he comes after her. Frightened, she runs and closes the door behind her. Everyone's so strange...surely this can't be the place that she left it as. Safe in her room, Debilitas appears once again. She attempts to shove him away but fails, being forced to run again. She trips on the stairs and falls. To her horror, she sees the door opening again. She fears for the worst, she must be doomed. But...it's that dog again. What in the world does he want?

Was this game released only in Japan? If not, where can I find it in Canada?

No, both Haunting Ground and Alice were released worldwide, however, both of them are hard to find. Your best bet is either used game stores or online.

was this like another Alice in wonderland with a different girl and other characters?

American McGee's Alice is, yes. It's more of a horror based game that's set after the original Alice in Wonderland.
Or do you mean the footage from the video? If so, no, that game is called Haunting Ground. This video is a crossover between the two games.
