I once read...A veteran, whether Active Duty, Guard, or Reserve...Is someone who at one point in his or her life wrote a check payable to the USA. In the checks memo line is written "For an amount up to and including my life". This takes a special person...a blessed soul. Each generation, a few such brave souls stand watch over us. And as I once said in my youth... "sleep sound and dream peacefully...though trouble lurks...it won't on my watch..." God Bless you all! Come home soon! Safe!
