Okay. So. I went to South Dakota this summer and there were loads of wild horses and burros.
All photography is owned by my father and I.
Um...K;. So, all the horses are pretty much property of IRAM, more commonly known as the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary.
The burros are legit. wild. We were driving down the highway on our last day there and BAM, completely wild herd. While they were freeroaming and not owned or maintained in any way, there also were very friendly. The last photo in the show is of me hugging the lead jack (equiv. to lead stallion). That was seriously among the coolest things I've ever done.

Sign that free petition to stop 2011 BLM roundup! They leave hundreds of horses dead and injured each year

  • @site4pets I actually appreciate BLM a great deal, thank you.

  • @ridingxruffian Its because most are sent to slaughter houses i Mexico, or held at BLM holding facilities. I have 107 signatures and only need 250, i started it 18th of this month and i think the BLM wont be doing mountain round up that leaves hundreds of horses dead and injured from carelessness and lack of respect, all the horses in the video are likely dead, So for the people who will admit the truth here is the link to the petition again-

    Thanks!

  • @site4pets If you want to ensure hundreds of Mustangs die of starvation every year--go for it.

  • @ridingxruffian If the BLM is removing wild horses and burros from lack of food and water sources why are cattle and sheep numbers staying the same? Its because people pay to graze there cattle and sheep on the land, so they remove the horses to make more money.

  • @site4pets What's wrong with that? People need livestock; wild horses are an invasive species and, while beautiful, need to be controlled so they don't harm the livelihood of those in the area.

  • mustang are a mix of native wild horses and domestic stock. wild hoses and burros are rounded up to make room for domestic beef cattle. the horses are then shiped to mexico where they are killed.

  • @ridingxruffian If the BLM is removing wild horses and burros from lack of food and water soucres why are cattle and sheep numbers staying the same? And if they just happen to be so nice and gentle during round up explain the death of braveheart caught on film dieing as the BLM so called "cowboys" watched here is the link-youtube(dot)com/watch?v=gyKWBBDhkFE - And explain why their arent as many horses being put up for adoption as they are caught? Read next post-

  • It looks like the burros were in Custer State park, probably near the buffalo corrals on the wildlife loop. They are indeed wild, just as the buffalo are there in that park. They are friendly because people continue to feed them..........

  • The one at 3:01 is SOOO beautiful!!
