This song is raw and real punk/new-wave, one of the best songs of the late 70's.

Whoops she's from Jersey... well that's what I meant! haha.

Her New York accent is thick in this song.

I remember bringing their debut album "Blondie" over to a friend's house. He didn't get it. I said, "They're playing this album like crazy on KROQ in Los Angeles. Blondie is going to be huge." Probably the only time in my life that I was right about a prediction.

@wallyinwales I agree!

@kookooboy She might be singing live over the track.

I have to say and I have never said this before about any other artist song but the original is SH*T compared to this version. Debbie spits the lyrics like vemon and the band step up the speed of the sound of the original to make it their own powerhouse hit single. Jack Lee wrote the song, singer in The Nerves but I bet when he hear Blondie's version he fell to his knees in total awe. He did write the song Will Anything Happen for the band also the two songs featured on The Album Parallel Lines.

If you compare this clip to others featuring lip synch of the studio version, this sounds like a slightly different vocal mix on Debbie--she's louder here and with more reverb than in the other mixes. This is actually a superior mix of the song!
