L-48 5.7 (350 cid) V8 engine. Just some shots of the engine work. The exhaust should be dual Cherry Bomb glasspacks at the end but also some muffler in between so that's why it cuts out some of the true muscle tone. I will work on the exhaust in Spring when the snow goes and I can take it to a muffler shop.

  • Thats a nice car, my dad had a 79, I was wondering is that when you had the stock pipes on it still?

  • Thanks! The pipes should be stock but the mufflers are old glasspacks so I'm getting more and more of that straight pipe sound which I love so much :)

  • How much oil is it burning? I saw a bit of smoke at the start up. looks like a cool car.

  • Thanks.

It doesn't burn much oil at all, I rarely ever have to add any. I think it was blue smoke which is probably just a bit rich mixture or over-pumped fuel at start-up.

  • Edelbrock 650

  • In this case it's understandable. Your carburetor is probably performing much better (at least at start-up) because it's also like at least 20 years newer, I assume ;)
