Sony PlayStation 1 (PSone / PS) - BootEdit Hack

Re-upload (2 hours of editing) for you PS hackers.

I managed to hack the PS boot logo and text that usually says "Sony Computer Entertainment". Easy to do, all thanks to a little program by Loser2000.

I made a 'empty'.DXF file at first using 3D Studio MAX to see if it would display nothing... And of course it did. Even if it failed it would.

So then I tried one of Loser2000's example .TMD files in the end, and it worked displaying the text "SRU". Really well actually...

That will be changed to my next projects name that will hopefully work out.

It will be announced soon, when it starts to take off...

How do you make an image with the .TMD extension that you can use with this program? Do you need a Program for making 3D Models?

@HereCrazy You do need a modelling program that can do this. There are also certain polygons restrictions, etc. I will eventually do another tutorial on this when I get the time. For now, email me and I can send you a link.

why 2 hours? this is a small copy and paste work of 10 seconds. i did a lot of this things. created some 3d logos by the way and replaced the original boot PS1 logo with TOXIC logo or VIRUS or CANABIS signs. this is nothing special. it´s also included in my dev kit :)

i made a lot of cracktros and selectors for ps1 till today.

@Haunted360 - Which makes sense since just starting up the BIOS on an emu only leads you to the PS1 memcard/CD player menu.

@blakegriplingph I don't know about the PS2. I am not working on that console at the moment. Also, you do not edit the BIOS. You edit the CD-ROM (or DVD-ROM) boot header.
