Mining in Afghanistan

Afghan ministry of mining declared the completion of preliminary works on nations five mines which would soon be put forth for auction and extraction purposes. These five mines include the well-known Hajigak iron deposits of Bamiyan Province which has at least over 2 billion tons of iron to offer, gas reserves of Shiberghan province, oil reserves of Sar-e-pul Province, coal stone and cement of Herat provinces. They will be put forth for auctioning soon and they are expected to benefit Afghanistan yearly by 2 billion dollars and thousands of jobs for the local population. However, its feared that with the growing insecurity and instability in Afghanistan, it will be hard to find international bidders for such a big project.

  • Did you find gold? oh..............different type of mining

  • This video appears to confuse two different uses of the word "mine". One, describes digging minerals out of the earth, the other is an explosive device that is buried in the ground. While it appears the voice over referred to the former definition, the visuals contained lots of the latter. What gives?
