@imdunin I know Indonesians have a great dislike for Australia but perhaps you all should of what the consequences would have been if Japan had won the war. What would your life be like under the guns of the Japanese, think of what they did to the Chinese people in China. Because they lost the war, it left the door open for Sukarno to gain power and bring on independence for Indonesia. Over the years, Australia has given huge support to the government of Indonesia & still do.
@imdunin These cross-border raids carried out by Indonesian volunteers continued throughout 1963; by 1964 Indonesian regular army units had also become involved. Australian units which fought during Confrontation did so as part of a larger British and Commonwealth force under overall British command. Australia's commitment to operations against Indonesia in Borneo and West Malaysia fell within the context of its membership in the Far East Strategic Reserve.
@imdunin Antagonism was already apparent in Dec1962, when a party of armed insurgents, with Indonesian backing attempted to seize power in the independent enclave of Brunei, only to be defeated by British troops from Singapore. By early 1963 military activity had increased along the Indonesian side of the border in Borneo, as small parties of armed men began infiltrating Malaysian territory on propaganda and sabotage missions. Continued...
@imdunin Australian soldiers have been charged by court for crimes commited during conflict, that's how we know about it.There have been very few cases so it is uncommon in our army but it is endemic in the Indonesian army & as far as I know NONE of them have been brought to trial. In fact when accusaions are made they are denied by the Indonesian government. The Indonesian army is very good at fighting unarmed civilian women & children but when faced with armed soldiers the cowards fold
@imdunin If you are talking about the non-declared war of 1962-66, it was instigated by Sukarno against Singapore. His paranoia led him to believe Britain wanted to maintain a colony in Singapore,or so he said,I think he wanted to take over Singapore like he did many other countries.Your country may well be "a toilet run by thieves and liars", but they are Indonesian thieves & liars.Unfortunately Australia has to work with Indonesia, when you work in a sewer shit is bound to stick to you
@kanakaken THe dirty british govt used royal navy ships to ferry indonesian troops around Indonesia to massacre their own people while we were supposed to be at war with them. The british establishment are a disgustingand disreputable bunch of fauna. My country is a toilet run by thieves and liars and your lot aint squeaky clean either
@kanakaken Yes i agree the Indonesians have done a lot of disgusting things,so have the British and they still do them today under the guise of peacekeeping or the so called war on terror. But Australia was colonized and the aborigines abused and exterminated, their children taken away to be reared by "civilized people".Therefore a white Australian is a colonist no? I always hear Aussies say why cant they live like us?
@imdunin Do you remember the Balibo 5?5 journalists murdered by the Indonesian military in EastTimor? Well they were actually 6 because Roger East was also murderd by a Indonesian firing squad & his body dumped in the sea the day after he was captured when investigating the deaths of the Balibo 5.Just like the Balibo 5 his death/disappearance was denied by Indonesia. The murder of the first five have been proven beyond doubt but NO perpetrator has been brought to trial they are protected
@imdunin What did Indonesia do to East Timor? The slaughtered unarmed peacful people after invading them. Finally Australia grew a backbone and kicked the Indonesian cowards out, allowing the Timorese to run their own country. What of West Papua? Indonesia invaded the country with force against people who only had spears bows & arrows, held a quasi, fixed "referendum" which allowed Indonesia to take full control in order to destroy forests kill locals & rape the land for minerals.
@imdunin It may depend on interpretation but to my knowladge Australia has never been a colonist country. Australia was a colony of England & Australia had administrative control over New Guinea under mandate from The League of Nations, Papua was an External territory of Australia but remained a British possession. The intension being that we would guide PNG to independance under the United Nations' oversight. PNG gained self government in Dec 1973 and full independence Sept 1975.
