The principle they use for curing navicular is too take the shoes off, BUT there is no real information on what navicular syndrome is or how to cure it. They expect the horse to cure themselves, and ridding the horse is one way to improve some cases of navicular.
Any goodbare foot trimmer can do better than this. A Rehab level trimmer can get results in miutes.
I would say that was more than a hint of a limp... Get that horse barefoot and PROPERLY trimmed. You need to get more of a heel-first landing in order to get any healing of the caudal part of the hoof. Also I wouldn`t be riding, just lots of in hand walking in padded boots, to get proper hoof function restored. If you`re so desperate to ride that you can`t give the horse time to heal, get a sound horse!
