Yet another run in my slow(er) family sedan. It's been a while, but I wanted to wait until after the first oil change to do another run. I've heard that these engines aren't truly broken-in until after the first oil change, and there seems to be some merit to that. To 60, it's about the same as my previous best run despite warmer temps and zero weight reduction, so it seems to be making a little more power now. It can actually (barely) chirp the tires on launch, something it could never do before. I'm running the factory-recommended tire pressures, so a better launch may be possible if I bumped the front tires up to 38 psi or so (from the 32 they're set at now). That's what I did with my 2007 (for better mileage, not performance), which is probably why that thing squealed like an SOB on launch. That car probably would've benefited from lowering the front tire pressure before acceleration runs.

It's hard to gauge the exact time due to the shaky cam footage (what's new, right?), but I peg it around 8.1 which is pretty much the same as the last run. I could probably improve it a tick or two if I cheated and upshifted at the 7300 rev limiter instead of the redline, but I feel that would be even more abusive than what I already put it through. I would've gone to at least 80, but the road started to curve. My old car could reach almost 90 in that distance, so that gives you an idea of how much slower this one is. The 0-75 time is around 11.6, which isn't THAT bad really. How Edmunds.com recorded a 13.3 second 0-75 time in a 2009 LX-P is beyond me. The EX isn't that much faster (it has 13 more HP and better gearing, but it's also 100 lbs heavier). Then again, they also said my old car took 10.9 seconds to reach 75. It could reach 80 in that amount of time, so I think Edmunds either has erroneous test equipment or their track is on a steep hill. The road I use is slightly uphill for the first few hundred feet, but levels out after that.

As always, thanks for watching :)
