My parents sell Hondas and Acuras. Nearly every day, we get one back because the steering wheels keep dismounting themselves. Last year, it was the brakes. The Acuras are crap. Honda doesnt spend much time on them because they dont sell as well as the Hondas. They dont sell many in other countries, either, because they are so expensive. They only make $2000 on every Acura they sell. They make $4500 on each Honda. Why would they spend a lot of time on the Acura anyways? Ford is now QUALITY.

@ATEOxREALISTA I never said Ford should be compared to a BMW or Audi. Clearly the BMW is a better luxury car since BMW is a luxury brand. I said that Ford should compare the Taurus to cars in its class such as the Toyota Avalon. The Taurus is a full size family car, it wasn't meant to compete with BMW.

The "tests" Ford is making comparing the Taurus to Lexus, Infiniti, Acura etc is plainly stupid. You can't judge a car on one extremely specific area against different cars each time. Its like saying an Accord with navigation, and all the other options is better than a BMW 5 series without the tech toys. The Taurus is a great quality car, they should be marketing it with some sense though.

@jsiszero No, it's starts with the SEL...or possibly that was just shown as the model they used. The Taurus comes in SE, SEL, Limited and SHO. So either way you're not paying far less for the Taurus than the Acura since the SE base model starts around $25000 and the SEL is about $27000. Even the SHO is only about $35000

acoustic laminated glass is only available on the SEL which contributed to the quietness... so you have to buy the more expensive model to get it quieter than the RL?
