POTCO - Speedup Glitch

POTCO - Pirates of the Caribbean Online

"Clocking" demonstrated, to show the approximately 100% speedup. Note this is for Windows PC platform, not the Mac version. Step 1: Change graphics options from OpenGL (which works) to DirectX 8 or 9 (which suffers from enormous lag if you less than 4 GB available.) Step 2: log in. Step 3: set year back a couple years. Step 4: set year forward a year or two. Step 5: Click "Play." Step 6: When pirate starts moving slow, set time to current date/time.

As the clock gets more and more confused, it discards its latest "measurement" reverting back to the previous incorrect time sample. When date/time matches server date/time, it assumes that the previous measurement sample was correct, instead of re-sampling.

Since it is almost EXACTLY a 100% speed-up, I have the impression that the speedup was capped knowingly - that is, this is probably another intentional glitch. That is, it knows it is off and approximates the amount it is off, very precisely (which admittedly, is a very difficult thing to do, itself.)

Not sure if they want this fixed or not, but if they do, this is exactly how to reproduce it. Obviously, you don't want to use a glitch like this on a busy server, nor in PvP nor in SvS.

thats not a glith because glitches are stuff in a game that the game doesnt play the app like that.

@legopremiermovies This glitch has been fixed. The new way to do the speed up is to use the hack that you describe. This original glitch, however, was entirely Disney's doing, and in every possible way, was a "glitch" type exploit.
