hey man,
I have my high poly textured + UV's but I am confused on how to make the prop game ready. How do I get a nice reduced poly rock + AO/spec maps etc ? would really appreciate some help!

@samueltrotman increase the size at the cell characteristics under the map of the "cellular" (after you've pulled it into a map u can edit it)

@samueltrotman sounds to me like the parameters on the maps might be too big. But I'd have to actually SEE the file to be sure.

for some reason it will not displace when i select the modifier and increase the strength, the sphere just gets bigger...can anyone suggest why this may be happening...new to max...thanks...

Thank you! This tutorial really helped me understand using displacement in 3dsmax. I have 2011, but it works the same. Awesome, keep up the tutorials:)
