There was a Orange/Red fireball coming down. It was larger than any shooting star I had ever seen, and seemed to move slower with a large wide trail. After 10 or fifteen seconds two fire balls split off, one went to the left of the main ball and the other went to the right. After a few seconds the trails went away and the three lights just hovered. I turned on the video camera on my cell phone, however the record button didn't work at first, so I lost an additional 10 seconds before I realized this. I was in the parking lot of a pharmacy and it was well lit, so I walked towards the lights to a fence to an open field, hoping to get a better shot. Once I got there I noticed the three lights changed colors a couple of times. 1:22 into my video the lights just disappeared.

  • I just received an email from American Meteor Society that there were multiple reports of a similar incident a couple of hours earlier as well. However there was no explanation to what it may have been.

  • i saw these same lights in the sky around this time of year in borrego springs!!

  • I first saw these fireballs in Menifee in 1994 while investigating a series of UFO sightings. I have many hours of footage and witness interview testimonies regarding this activity in that area in 1994. Strangest of all was the report of a crash in the hills around Menifee and the recovery effort. This was a time when the 215 was still the old highway and Menifee was not too populated. When I saw this posting I was surprised to see that the fireball was seen again.

  • is this at wallgreens!

  • @LVI56 No, that's not good for me, and there should be matching video, are you serious? It was a ufo and not flares! Same sightings around the world!

  • @TOUROFTHEUNIVERSE Golden Knights said on their Facebook page it was them. That good for you? Of course videos won't match, conditions are always different. Plus their video is professional made, we only got amateur and cell phone shots.

  • This lady caught a good clip of it. search: UFO or Strange Lights in Lake Elsinore, Ca

  • This looks like the same one I saw. I was in La Cresta (Menifee) and a single large fireball caught my eye straight overhead moving north. First impression was a large, slow Meteor but lasting longer I figured it must have been a satellite dropping in and burning up. Eventually after moving way north it broke into 3 with two pieces to the right and one to the left. The left one extinguishing prior to the other two. Once over I checked the time at 7:24 pm. 1/6/11 This video shows the end. Thanks

  • The reports about the skydivers are not the same! One says it was Red Bull skydivers and the other says it was Army Golden Knights skydivers. I couldn't find any matching videos from Red Bull and Army GK, the video they have, looks different from this. I

  • good one
