  • @jmms429 I grew up there also, 35th and Halsted. My sisters went to St. Marys. Of course St. George parish is gone also. St Marys still there. It was much better growing up smelling the stock yards and bubbly creek. You could always find your way to hood by smell. All that is gone now, just like the watching submarine races at the planetarium.

  • I was born and raised in Bridgeport 32nd & Union . I live about 35 miles out of the city now . Was through the neighborhood a couple of months ago and it looks amazing . I know my elementary school St David (32nd Emerald) is gone. That was gone when I was still living there. I was wondering if my high school (1970's) St. Mary's is still standing. It was on Aberdeen or May...off of Morgan . I know it's been closed for ages. Is the church still there also? Just wondering : )
