Trolling for vistors. Internet trolling is carried out by someone who intentionally posts controversial messages in an on-line community for example to a forums, blog with main intention of trying to cause users to get into an online argumentative response. This is sometimes known as a flame war.

One aim of some Trolling may generate a higher level of traffic to the post as the arguments responses go back and forth.

How very tiresome. My father knew of a signaller in the Coldstream Guards who enjoyed sending insulting messages to the US 82nd Airborne via semaphore. After Arnhem, the CG & the 82nd moved apart but he continued persecuting the dear old yanks using a carrier pigeon named Pride of Wigan - but P of W was not a 1st class bird & kept taking these rude messages, meant for the 82nd, to the nearby Essex Yeomanry by mistake. Huge stink ensued, of course. Plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose, Gerry

Hello, Peter. It sincerely pains me to think that you received hateful messages. You are a amazing person, you remind me so much of my Grandfather George who died in 2006. Though you didn't share the same looks you were both extremely kind and just the greatest people you would ever hope to meet. It's like your my 3rd Grandfather.
