Join the forums because you'll need our help rebuilding the ones you find or you may get lucky and get a pair that is already rebuilt.
I finished my repair of these in Dec of 2007 when I recorded this Video. Have you seen my photo album?

I bought the spare drivers from ebay and other polkies. Polk sells replacement 6.5" drivers that sound exactly the same but they don't look the same. I want true original replacements.
But in 2004 Polk Audio spent 2 mill on coming out with the RD0-194 & RD0-198's, those replace the SL2000 & SL3000 tweeters because the originals had a slight flaw that they couldn't get rid of in the 80's because of no computer technology.
So the tweeters are new from Polk and the Drivers are used old original

@rsenzel Hi,I know of two pairs that just were sold within the past 2 months. And they were in mint condition. What you need to do is join the forum at Polk Audio andwebsite then you'll be able to keep an eye on the Flea Market section and you'll get notice about a sale right away. As Polkies we update a Thread of Polk Audio speakers we all find on the web everyday as well.
I rebuilt these 4 to 5 years ago.
I bought spare MW's (that's the 6.5" drivers) (continued above)

Lasareath - These videos you've posted on your Polk SDA SRS 1.2 TL's sure bring back a lot of memories for me. They are not easy to find now. The question I have is when you were bringing your 1.2 TL's back to life, were you able to get the replacement parts from Polk long after the speaker line was discontinued? How long ago did you rebuild these? Sometimes I see these for sale that need work. I want t make sure I can get the parts from Polk if I buy a pair of these.

@jfrank417 I'm picking up a Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 300 next week. It will be replacing my Adcom Pre and Carver Amps. It will be Levels above the Carvers. I am currently using a new to me Raysonic CD168 and I will be getting New MIT speaker cables as well. So all my Interconnects and Speaker cables will be MIT.

I would suggest getting the carver m-4.0t amp to properly power these, I guarantee the next block over would hear them loud and cllear

Love your Polk vids! Check out my Polk Monitor 10 video I posted recently here on YouTube. I am driving them with a Qinpu tubed integrated amp, and the sound is unreal! I am not sure which tweeters I am using though. Could you tell me just by looking at my vid? I was told the original 'peerless' tweeters on early Monitor 10's are superior to the latter SL-2000 ones. Is this true? Thanks.
Holy IMD!! Bjork's voice is completely washed out.

@gtalover139 Currently I am using a Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 300. It has an external Power Supply that weighs 35LBS and the Amp weighs in at 85LBS. It pushes 500 watts per channel. At the time this video was recorded I was using an Onkyo receiver and two Carver TFM-35X's!
The Musical Fidelity came out in 2003 and back then it was $7000.00!!! You can find them on Audiogon for around $2500 now.
