I took apart an old USB dongle for a wireless mouse..

Although a very small device, it has many components inside. Any identifiable components could be reused in a new design. A hot air station is used to melt the solder holding the parts in place.

  • Verry nice, hope you release the rest of this. I was curious about the other parts :D

Also: how do you use the microcontroller?

  • @Poohmaniac

usually you begin by searching the internet for the 'datasheet' of a device..

the datasheet tells you what pins can be connected, and what they do.

often the datasheet will give you an 'application circuit' of how the part is typically used. many digital ICs are intended to be controlled by a host computer. a Microchip PIC microcontroller can fulfil this need, and their programmable chips cost only a couple dollars each

from this device, i would steal the wireless components

  • Good to see that I am not the only one "reusing" old components..

    Nice vdeo..

A listing of your "savings" in the end would have been fine though..

Have fun with your parts! ;)

  • that's way i want so hard an air flow station.

  • Yap... these are things that can be found on scrap yards or at garbage days.

And very often in functional state.

    nice vid.

  • its not stealing its hacking for things like this

  • What is the song?

  • Big respect for this!!!

...and NO, I am not going to ask You how to use this or that...it is after all the matter of ingenuity...and personal touch...

Seriously, veeery nice vid, very nice technique, and also very nice music!

  • Thats cool

  • i liked the video it was well done in terms of entertainment

  • great video but with the combination of these parts what could u build... and did u build anything out of these parts? and.. how did u melt the IC with that much heat?

  • Dude Exile! very nice
