my first cloth diaper

I finally learned how to thread the sewing machine, and this was my experiment. A prefold, but with cute fabric.

P.S. That is my mother in the background, and I have already talked to her about the way she talked to my older son during the time I was video taping this. I do not appreciate the threat of harm to my children, as it is not an appropriate or effective way to punish a misbehaving child. Time out is the way to go for my children!

Thanks! I made this one as a prefold, but have since made several fitted diapers from a tutorial I had seen on you tube, that is no longer available. :(

If I ever find the time and patience I'll make one myself... or find my camera for that matter. LOL

Good too know. I'm glad you've spoken to hear, I just felt my heart drop when I heard that! With this cute little boy running around ina lovely cloth diaper and an older brother who looked so happy!

Hey, how did you make your diaper, was it hard? Would you make more or just buy them?

It was really easy to make the diaper. It's just a prefold, because this my first time touching a sewing machine since 8th grade. My son is getting too large for the gerber prefolds, so I made these a little larger, with one side flannel, one side a terry cloth material, and an old soft towel that I cut up for the soaker. I think I would probably make more before I bought any. They seem so expensive right now, and I'm a SAHM anyways, so I can wash the diapers whenever I need any. :)

Oh yes. That's the crazy grandmother in the back. And she did not smack him. I don't find that kind of discipline acceptable in my household, and I've already talked to her about it and how a threat of that kind of punishment is not tolerated by me. It's sad that she ruins all my videos with her bad behavior.

My mom is the exact same way, I didnt think anything of it when I hears it. I guess Im kinda numb to hearing stuff liek that. I have a 10 year sis and 8 year bro and she says stuff like that all the time to them and she still says it to me."Im gunna rip your face off!!" haha

HOWEVER, if I EVER hear her saying stuff like that to my son I will put her straight and threaten not to bring him over there any more.
