1 of 2 things are happening hunnie...1. The layer ABOVE is set to something like difference or screen, when you are masking make sure BOTH layers are Source Alpha layers. I hope you know where to find this (if not google it) cause it could be in a different spot than my version of vegas. OR... 2. You are feathering the picture WAY too much...for the manip you are trying to create I'd say you wouldn't have to feather it more than 15%. Good luck!!!
