people said it was sonnys fault for all that happened with sollozzo.still if it was. you cant blame him. solozzo wouldve had the corleones 3 to 4 million dollars in a year. with tattalgia peace. plus. sonny corleone is a straight up BAD ASS. i wish he could have got to carlo and killed that son of a bitch before he was killed. but instead sonny dies and no one knows about carlo beating up corleone daughter and he gets kisses on the cheek from don vito. that made me MAD

Michael didn't want to kill Fredo but he HAD to. In the mafia one SMALL weakness can get you killed. If Fredo lives, it sends a message that someone can attempt to kill you and be given a pass. Thus why Fredo had to die.

Michael should banish Fredo from the country and from family business. He should have given him the ultimatum to retire somewhere in Europe and break all his bonds with criminal life. Killing him was unecessary. However,Michael maybe wanted to give the other rival mobsters the message he was so ruthless he could kill his own brother.
