We organized, we lobbied, we wrote, we called, we protested, and Congress pretended not to hear us and did what they wanted to do anyway. At least 75% of us are against the war in Iraq, and we don't even have one single presidential candidate who honestly intends to end it, but we do have people talking about starting a new war with Iran, a country that our own intelligence clearly states is no threat to us at all! This is not democracy, people. We can go vote, we can organize, we can protest, but it never changes anything. We are controlled, we are deceived, we are manipulated by the corrupt two party system that gives us a choice between two sold out employees of the special interests. Let's face it, democracy is dead in America.

  • Glenn... More to the point... since this vid was made...what you said here has in fact been bourne out... and more troops are on their way!

do you believe that America has less democracy... or would you no accept (as many if not most outside the US knew since the 60's) that the US was never democratic to start with!

A true democracy gives choice... and all choices in the US political system comes down to part A. or Party B. both of which are more or less the same!

  • It's true that america did not start off very democratic. I do believe there have been ebbs and flows of democracy in america, but certainly democracy is a thing which most of us have not seen in our lifetimes. For at least the past 30 years america has been ruled by an oligarchic class.

  • This guy should run for office got my vote, and everything he said is dead-on so far. Kutos to you sir.

  • How can you not lose hope? Every time someone gets in office that promises to do what's right and does do it, they get killed. Like JFK. And his younger brother. Becasue they wanted to get out of a war that 500,000 Americans died in. It will never change. I think America is beyond redemption. And I hope Obama will leave Iraq as he promised. They need some type of a plan. Similar to Vietnamization. Slowly turn over the war to the Iraqis. It's their war, not mine.

  • The problem is that the rest of the world hates the governments policies, and now their "probable" war on Iran. And they don't differentiate between people here that disagree with the government and people who agree with it. They're gonna get us all killed. The Patriot Act is unconstitutional. It's just a way for them to spy on and silence political dissidents. Russ Feingold, the senator from my state, was the only one who stood up against it.

  • This is only a pixel in the huge picture of their plan. The people behind this are hiding behind a wall, that wall is the now-corrupted system. If we want to see them, we'll have to destroy that wall, the system.

  • i feel for you man, now get out & buy yourself lots of guns, ammo, food & water, stash them where the feds won't find them.

a storm is coming & you better be prepared.

    REVOLUTION!!!

  • You must not loose hope. I am not american,

but i like to study american politics. The invading in Iraq was the most stupid move USA could do. I am not sure if Obama will make all the changes needed, but i am sure he will

make a better relationship to USAs allies. And that might be important now and in the future. However, maybe you should be an politican youself. :)

  • I have no idea what is going on in my own country. The government is about and for people with money-and who lobbies the hardest. Healthcare is a joke in the richest country in the world. Gas prices make a trip to the grocery store tough.

I'd like change--but be careful of the media. What they say in a bill is often only the part on the surface. Underlying conditions are not talked about, so we don't know everything that was voted on.

Sad to say--but America needs a revolution.

  • read below first. Just eventually oligarchies turn into tyrannies, thats when we have finally got completly fed up with everything under the oligarchy and someone comes along and says, I WILL CHANGE IT!! Of corse they do. But are given power absolute for the peoples love of them. Then of corse, racial hatred agaisnt arabs, economic depression and finally a tyrannical country. That equals unfortunatly. World War.
