Isn't it crazy how snakes can go 2-3 months without eating? Its crazy! Love to see people owning this wonderful pet! Such great personality they do have! How is he doing now that its 2 years later?

Beautiful snake! My male hognose, Harley, stopped eating for a while. Tuna didn't work... however... (and this will sound weird)... he will eat when I hold him (usually on my bare tummy) and he gets warmed up... and I feed him by hand while still holding him. The only snake I have to do that with. (My female NEVER refuses a meal & now she's 3x bigger than the older male.) She'll even try to eat fingers, noses, hands, tummys. ;) I named her Piggy Sue for that reason.

I just got a baby western hog two days ago, and it was only a couple days old. Its funny though, because she didn't hesitate at all to feed when I gave her a pinkie. By the way, beautiful snake. =)

The way I feel is get them young and it will accustom them to being a part of your family, and will keep the snakes stress level down for life.

O.o the western hog nose seems like the dumbest Snake ive seen on youtube why does it eat from the side isnt that harder eating head to body or body to head?

@midknighdgn Nobody ever claimed he was smart, and if you haven't seen a snake try and eat something sideways before, then you probably have never had to care for one.
