First off, as soon as we're born we're dying. People say smoking takes 5-10 minutes off of your life every time you have a cig........maybe that's because it takes 5-10 minutes to smoke one!!!! Ya know, I gotta say, all these people who thought they were so smart by outlawing smoking in public areas, EVEN PLACES OUTSIDE NOW, just got trumped. @theburf - you can't make an assumption of a population's risk to smoking based on one or two incidence. The likelyness is, that smoking will kill 50% of all users. For me, you are playing with fire for a benefit that isn't really justifiable.

Anyway, death isn't so much of an issue for most smokers. What is an issue, is the years you are likely to be ill before you die. On average, smokers will be ill 10-15 years more than a non-smoker. That's why I dont smoke.
