I still prefer part II, the french hornes capture the feel of being at sea, majestic. Imagine the original star trek theme song with a piano instead of the brass intro.

The song is good on it's own,without associating it with a movie.I've never seen the movie but have always loved the song..The version of any song you initially hear is the one you end up liking the best. So there is no right or wrong answer.

Really nice song, but you should have flipped the record over, part II is much better.

I prefer part 1. The piano,which is gone in part 2,adds a dimension and melds with the strings beautifully. But both versions are good. You can't ruin a beautiful song.

I can listen to this tune over and over again.........I can almost imagine myself on the Kings funeral ship being delivered to the king........all of us vikings rowing hard.

Everyone on shore tense as we approach dock at full speed............then suddenly oars down and the ship comes to an immediate halt.Well that's the way I remember it!
