Mandarin Mating Dance

Mandarin Mating Dance - This is in my aquarium with the 27 clownfishes.They usually do this only at dusk, I was able to turn on a few more lights in my tank to capture this. I didn't want to turn them all on , they would stop. Sometimes they dance a few nights and then not again for a while. They swim awful close to the anemones but don't touch them. Music Beneath the Tides , "Mysteries of the Deep" from the Monterey Bay Aquarium written by Doug Morton.

is the male or female bigger...cause if the female is that makes no sense...cause some fish the male is bigger...and in other fish the female is bigger...why is that???

@benjonke I wish! Mandarin fish, I believe, have not been successfully bred in captivity.

Hey Mobert mandarins have been bred in captivity and they are also being released by ora (i think) as full captive breed (all three types)

I managed to get mine a few weeks in without any problems but my growth rate was really slow compared to other breeders.

I started the eggs in a egg kriesel and after 24hrs you end up with pro larvae. I kept mine going with the standard clown fish mix, rot's and phyto.

I'm sure you'll be able to do it if you have the time.
