  • @AnalogAudio1 Until the mid eights many pro performers relied extensively on programmers. Preset machines without knobs are way less expensive and easier to deal with. I have seen people fail to get a single noise out of a modular set to a neutral position. These are for experimenters! Keep a digital sampler handy for even more flexibity.

  • @AnalogAudio1 WOW, you really know how to put someone down huh. Looks to me like he's having a nice time, manual out and eveyrthing. Very enthusiastic :) Besides, it's probably not the first synth he's ever owned. Then he would be the first i'd ever heard of rushing straight out to get a modular without knowing anything about syntheseizers or basic electronic circuits. They're not exactly cheap to take home these beasts...

  • @MalteSer001 well, you need practice and time. If you are a synth lover, this should be no problem... If you should end up not using it, you don't really like modulars. Many modular owners are not able to produce great sounds with their instruments - like many Youtube movies prove.

If experimenting with modules, connecting is not fun for you, better stay away from it. Get yourself a Nordlead - here you have presets, which others programmed for you. Unique sounds have their price...

  • just ordered some Doepfer modules, after spending years wasting time and money on VA and software synths etc, no comparison.

  • Exaclty only in studio you can hear the different, Analog cannot be clean but is true and not compensating all the time like happen in every digital algorithm. Also analog or modular can be really cheap : DIY

  • the different about Analog signal and Digital Signal is explained clearly all over the web. For me is a question of feeleing and hearing.

  • well...my opp : if you have the moog vst plugin and the actual moog and you test them out you realize that the money spent on the actual moog will reflect on the 'making quality' of the mix. analog doesnt sound clean, AT ALL, MOST vst's do. but if u high end DA conveters ( lets say apogee DA16x) you wont really hear anything different either than in the studio. hi-fi audio and pro production are very far apart (and not just economically).

  • is it very hard to program????

god ive been looking at modular synths 4 a long time but when i see all that connecting and shit i get scared of wasting alot of money and end up not using it......

  • I have always wondered what is the input of a device like this? Is is a synth loop or something?
