whale watching off the coast of Victoria, BC

The video-sequences and pictures were taken during a whale watching trip on September, 4th 2010 at the coast of Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia (Pacific Ocean).

It was a stunning experience, for the orcas came so close to the boat that even our guides (who are out on the water with this tour up to three times a day) were in high spirits. The whales were hunting right besides the boat, circling fish. With them came a four week old baby-orca. Can you spot it in the movie?

I could not use a zoom or other high-res equipment because I only had my iphone with me to make a few takes.

It might not be a director´s masterpiece but maybe it is suitable to share some seconds of that awesome experience with you...
