Typical Sunday 6pm Mass celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary, Blackfen. Mass is in the Ordinary Form, in English, and ad orientem, as recommended by the Holy Father in his book, The Spirit of the Liturgy.

  • I was wondering if this NO Mass could be said in English? Well, could it be?

  • @luvpinas123 This Mass IS said in English !

  • Is this NOM celebrated 'Ad Orientem' ?

  • @FilipEffatha Yes, it is.

  • Even though the church is not that nice you can feel the reverence!

  • @1234JAST actually, the church isn't bad - the air of reverence makes up for the plain decor

  • This is what the Holy Mass of Paul VI was and is meant to be. This is the way all parishes must celebrate Holy Mass, for the sake of the honor of Our Lord. LONG LIVE priests like this man! Should I become a priest as I desire, this shall be how I celebrate the Holy Mass!!

  • @Antjammat Amen to that! I myself plan to pursue a vocation to the priesthood, and has a distinct dislike for Versus popolum celebartions.

  • @kittieconvoy I agree. Something's not right with this picture.

  • @macmclernon awh, my bad :) God bless

  • Ad orientem with a female altar server - that made me chuckle.

  • I am the music director at my parish and I wish I had priests like these to work with. I am a new convert and of all the people in the parish, I am the one pushing for altar servers and lectors to wear something nicer than flip-flops and cut-off shorts.

  • It's amazing the difference ad prientum does! Even with what appears to be a girl "alter-boy" you can tell there is much more reverence then when the priest faces the people. Now only if we can return the practice of boys only for the position of altar-boy.
