Standard vs. Widescreen in Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Since YouTube has now upgraded to the widescreen format, and since Brawl offers an option to play in widescreen, I decided to capture a few things in widescreen mode, stretch the capture to a widescreen aspect ratio and then see how it turns out.

The reason for this is that if I do a History Behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl project, I first wanted to explore my options by seeing how widescreen looked. Based on these results, if do History Behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which is very likely, I will use the widescreen format when capturing Brawl. (Though almost all of the games it is based on will be displayed in standard mode.)

At any rate, when I was capturing in widescreen for this video, it occurred to me that I could compare a few things between standard and widescreen. But a few things eventually turned into everything that is in this video.

VirtualVCR, but at varying video sizes combined with adding the vertical black letterboxing on the sides of the standard captures with VirtualDub.

the sond capure was off by a bit in curtin aria's (might want to get that fixed before you start doing youer histery behind brall videos)

How about you save a replay of a Brawl and capture it in both widescreen and standard?

On Flat Zone whit Wide Screen, at the bottom it says "WIDE SCREEN"

All those camera things are great, but you (CrappyCaptureDevice) play MUCH better in widescreen.

Although most of the games are zoomed (trimmed) in widescreen version, i really appreciated how vantajous is playing in widescreen because i realized that some of the games you'll have really gain of the game area.

when i had a normal CRT back in 2004, some of the games have already shown widescreen version and then i'd rather select it to 16x9 even in a 4x3 tv because i felt a gain of image even if my image looked thinner (anamorphic widescreen)
