Fitting that this film is in the public domain, i.e., it belongs to the common man. Unfortunately, that means no studio wants to bankroll a high-quality restoration and DVD/Blu-Ray treatment of it. A new, better-than-usual 70th Anniversary Edition was recently released, so I am thankful for that.

Way to go John Doe!

Indeed. There are several more monologues. In many respects, each better than its predecessor. And included among them is probably one of the two or three best drunk scenes I've ever seen.
"LIGHTHOUSES, John. Lighthouses in a foggy world."
This film deserves a quality DVD release so much that it isn't funny.
