  • how hard is it to make a dug out

  • I just shot the video, but it took him 4hrs to do the little canoe. It is such a good thing to see how our old people used different natural items to create things like this canoe. Canoes were an essential part of the settlement of the west. The Crees and later the Dene were an integral part of the trade. For one thing I know he(Phillip) could make a big canoe out of scratch. It's just something to behold.

  • i would love to have one

  • Four hours to make a canoe man that is fast, wish you poster more. If there were more video the knowledge could have been passed on and I would have made one too...

  • Sorry but this is wrong, when the bow raises the aft sinke causing a plowing action causeing more drag. It is better to have the bow low and slove through but you need a long canoe with a narrow fore to do this, see the video longtail catamaran on walkertongdee it illistrates my point. Happy building and lots of fun to you. Sean

  • It is my hope that knowledge like his doesent get lost, thanks/

  • youre boats probably had the same idea as ours did. that is, as the boat gains speed, the bow raised a bit creating less drag, and you go even faster!! ..ps: watch this:.."Martin Kesici-Tarja Tarunen-Leaving You For Me" we liked boats too! we had huge turf houses. but inside it was wood i think. a supporting structure. a norse long house was as wide as one of youres but a bit longer and the roof was higher. the norse longhouse was like an upside down ship in basic shape!

  • how would you make one out of scratch, or how would philip? Beacause i've been wanting to make my own.
